UK Sanctions WDW 2025

Hi ,

I’m back (from holiday).

And I’m back with a pack.

A pack (attached at bottom of email) that gives you all you need to understand who decides what in UK Sanctions.

In May you may remember the UK Gov published their cross-govt review of sanctions implementation and enforcement (see below).

If you read down to Annex 1, you’ll see they published Sanctions roles and responsibilities across government.

I found this helpful.

Especially given the amount of cross-government collaboration that exists.

However.

I’ve got quite a visual mind and struggled to follow the table and categorise it (see below).

So I’ve made my own version.

And I’ve added examples of Civil & Criminal Enforcement along with Key Highlights for 2025 (screenshots below).

Hopefully useful if you’re going into any H1 briefing meetings on UK Sanctions over the next few weeks.
